Norwegian energy firm Equinor has signed a multi-licence agreement with oilfield software and offshore data visualisation solutions provider FutureOn, to use the latter’s Cloud-based software Field Activity Planner (FieldAP).

Under the agreement, FutureOn will deploy Field Activity Planner (FieldAP) to digitalise and integrate data from Equinor’s existing North Sea brownfields. This data will help Equinor in real-time engineering and cost analysis of potential tie-back opportunities.

FutureOn’s 2D/3D offshore data visualisation platform is easy to use and integrates Equinor’s backend systems.

The starting phase will concentrate on using FieldAP to boost efficiency in concept development and selection to slash operational expenses and select the best concepts that offer value.

Using FieldAP, oil and gas companies can digitally merge and visually design large volumes of offshore oilfield data in a centralised cloud platform.

Additionally, the tool enables quick visualisation of offshore engineering workflows, project planning to collaborate more productively, and offer improved insights.

FutureOn chief technology officer Olav Sylthe said: “Digitalisation is more than a buzzword in the oil and gas industry.

“Our partnership with Equinor is a testament to our software’s ability to effect meaningful change, enabling improvements in safety, security, sustainability, productivity and cost efficiency through digitalisation, data integration and visualisation. We look forward to being a part of the digital journey ahead with Equinor.”
